SSE – Outdoors have four stunning locations on the Mendip and Quantock hills delivering exceptional and engaging outdoor activities to young people for over 70 years in some of Somerset’s most beautiful locations.
Every student’s personal growth is very important to us and our individually tailored outdoor education programs allow students to safely challenge and explore their unique abilities whilst having a LOT of fun.
SSE – Outdoors is part of Support Services for Education (SSE) which is within Somerset County Council and we work closely with other parts of the SSE service to provide the very best possible outcomes we can for children and young people.
Our goal is to give all our customers enriching and engaging outdoor experiences creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We’re constantly looking for people who think like we do, care about the same things we care about and who strive for excellent delivery of activities and superb customer service within the outdoor industry.
Many of our centre managers have risen within the service and we have a yearly programme of apprenticeships.
We also employ freelancers who support the service with exceptional delivery of a wide variety activities.
