If you are looking for a location for field study or residential study we have three great options for you and your students. Kilve Court and the Outdoor Centre are both situated on the Quantock hills next to a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and similarly the Charterhouse Centre is situated on the Mendip Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All three offer accommodation and fully catered options so you can concentrate on your studies.

Why Choose an SSE Outdoors Centre?
- Both Charterhouse and Kilve have workroom and breakout spaces to deliver indoor sessions. Kilve has space to present to over 100 people along with a further 5 workrooms.
- All centres have projectors, flipcharts and white board facilities.
- We can fully cater for your course with hearty meals including a cooked breakfast, packed lunch and home cooked dinner and can accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements.
- At Kilve and the Outdoor Centre we can accommodate groups of up to 200 students or at Charterhouse you can opt for an exclusive use experience accommodating groups of up to 63.
- All the centres are located in designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and are surrounded by breath-taking field sites and dramatic protected landscape.
- Engineering Students at Kilve have the option to visit the nuclear power station being constructed at Hinkley whilst Ecology groups are able to visit the Jurassic coastline or utilise the nature reserve at Charterhouse.
- We have an extensive knowledge of the surrounding locations of centres and can talk you through all the locations of specific interest to your group.
